For the time being, no injuries are to be deplored. But the sandstorm, accompanied by strong gusts of wind and rain damaged houses, vehicles, public lighting and even local services. This storm reinforces the drought, already very present in these areas. According to the Folha de São Paulo, residents were asked not to waste water on cleaning.

Usually sandstorms occur in spring or summer, in semi-arid areas.
