The show Echappées Belles is filming in the Pyrenees

Since the middle of last week, the cameras of the program of Echappées Belles (1) crisscross the Pyrenean chain. For this new episode, the presenter Ismaël Khelifa is accompanied by Jacob Karhu, who for seven months voluntarily cut himself off from the world by settling near the Beille plateau, at 1700 meters from ‘altitude, in a refuge that he has repaired with the means at hand.

After starting filming in Toulouse on Thursday, the team then moved to the Pic du Midi de Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées). At the end of a weekend spent in the bowels of the astronomical observatory, the small group took over the management of Mélanie Zervos’ department and restaurant, Le Clos Saint-Martin – La Métairie, for a culinary experience. At the piano at her establishment, the young chef from Ariège only had a few hours to reinvent a dish. On Sunday, with Laurence Talleux, a specialist in edible wild plants, Mélanie Zervos notably discovered that you could cook lichens or even the great Berthe whose taste laughs on fennel with a hint of anise. Faced with this culinary challenge, the little Clos Saint-Martin brigade has concocted a potato risotto à la grande Berthe to accompany a pigeon.

Today, filming continues in Ariège with other surprises in store. It will then only be necessary to edit the program of 90 minutes.
