Stromae surprises with the release of a new single “Health”, eight years after his last song

After Adèle and her single surprise at one in the morning, it’s Stromae’s turn to surprise her audience. This Friday 15 October, around six in the morning, the Belgian singer unveiled “Health”, his new song. According to Le Parisien, the single would have been unveiled so early due to an international release, piloted by the American label Darkroom, but the singer would have resigned in Europe with Universial and his label Polydor.

“If we celebrated those we do not celebrate, for once, I would like to raise my glass to those who do not” repeats Stromae in the chorus of a song dedicated to the health of shadow workers and others “left behind”. The singer also drinks for the “champions at the worst times”, in a nod to caregivers applauded during the pandemic.

Rock en Seine and Coachella

On Instagram, the artist writes to be “Glad to be back. My brand new track is now available on all platforms” before revealing the clip’s release to 18 hours on Youtube. Other news of this surprise return, Stromae will find its audience at the Rock en Seine festival in 2022 in the Paris region. A solo scene that the Belgian had not done since 2015, after a burnout in the wake of the release of his second album Racine Carrée, in 2013.

In 2018, the artist had already reappeared by collaborating with Orelsan, on the single La Pluie, then in 2019 with the title Arabesque, shared with Coldplay. A new tour is scheduled to begin in April 2022 at Coachella, the California festival.
