Seduced by Dubai, the former Miss Lot-et-Garonne settles there and creates her business there

the essential The former Miss Lot-et-Garonne, thanks to her partner Margot Doermann and a well-stocked address book, has just anchored in Dubai to create a business there tourism.

Very far from her native Lot-et-Garonne, the former Miss Aquitaine Axelle Bonnemaison recently set up her own tourism business in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. And thanks to her partner Margot but also to a well-stocked address book, she intends to develop it in the coming months.

First of all, how did you come up with the idea of creating this tourism business thousands of kilometers from where you live?

In January and in the middle of the curfew, I wanted to celebrate my birthday far from home to clear my head and have a good time again. With my friend Margot Doermann, whom I knew in the world of fashion and the Miss elections, we had decided to fly to the Dominican Republic. But at this time of year, the cost of the stay was way too high for our budget. So we changed our minds by finally opting for Dubai.

And what was your reaction when you discovered this great city in the United Arab Emirates?

I must admit that with Margot, we fell in love with Dubai during our 5 days of vacation. We were captivated, like a child who goes to Disneyland Paris for the first time. Here, there is no media hype on the Covid – 19 by turning on the TV channels. There are certainly health restrictions to be respected but we do not talk about them excessively as in France.

And so you decided to come back a few months later to complete your professional project?

Yes on the return plane, we didn’t think too long with my friend. It was obvious. It had to be done now and not wait 2 or 3 years. Dubai lives mainly from tourism with many foreigners and just 10% of Saudis. Thanks to a lawyer but also to our address books, our connections in the world of fashion, we therefore decided to set up this tourist company “Dream Experience”. After avoiding administrative obligations in mid-August including medical examinations, I was able to officially launch this business in October.

Can you tell us a little more about “Dream Experience”?

In fact, we customize trips and stays for French or Europeans who want to go to Dubai. And we also offer many services to French people who already live in this very touristy city. This ranges from jet-skiing to a hot-air balloon ride, quad biking, buggy or meeting the Bedoins. There is something for all budgets. Frankly, in Dubai, everything goes very fast. We don’t have time to be bored. In addition, with the Universal Exhibition, it attracts a lot of people. And next year, there is the FIFA World Cup in Qatar not far from here.

Are you not afraid that your business will quickly be competed with by other tourism companies and by tour operators in Dubai?

You know me. I like to take risks in life and take on new challenges. In this professional project with my partner Margot and in this great human adventure, we did not set limits. Today there are 2 of us at “Dream Experience” and maybe tomorrow we will be 3 or 4. The idea is therefore to quietly develop our company, adapting to the situation and to requests. We started slowly in October but we already have reservations for January and February 2022 with the visit of Lot-et-Garonnais.

Did you easily find accommodation in Dubai?

I admit that it was not a piece of fun but finally I took up residence on the artificial island of the Blueswaters in front of the Ferris wheel. I walk a lot to get to the city center but I don’t mind it.
