The country of the rising sun reached the perfect score of 30% after studying films and TV series, according to the criteria of the study based in particular on the scores obtained on Imdb and the prizes won in different competitions. Surprisingly, we find the Czech Republic in second position followed by South Korea. The United Kingdom comes close to the podium while France is far behind, at the 15 e place! Even more unlikely, the United States comes second to last in the ranking at 28 th place, just ahead of Malaysia.
Looking only at the TV series offer, the UK wins the cup with “Breaking Bad” as the top rated series on IMDb, followed by “Our Planet” and of “Rick and Morty”. The United Kingdom also obtains the first place of the countries with the most series and film content in its Netflix catalog with 3. 992. France is for its part good last, out of a total of 19 countries, with 3. 349 films and series.
Regarding the best rated films, the Czech Republic wins with the best score ahead of Japan and South Korea. France is not even part of the top 14. Among the feature films in the catalog and the best rated, we find “Dream House”, “Les Evadés”, “The Godfather”, “The Consuls Son” and “Green Gold”.
To establish this ranking, the study was based on the scores obtained on the specialized platform IMDb by adding the prizes and nominations won by the series and films in each catalog. Each country was then ranked according to the final score obtained and translated into percentages, on 15 September latest.
