La Fabrique du jazz aims to return to the sources of jazz while opening the door to developments in the genre. It pays tribute to Hugues Panassié (1912 – 1974), the first great critic of francophone jazz recognized around the world, producer, writer and radio host. Installed in 1942 in Montauban, he will receive in his house in the suburb of Moustier, the biggest names in black American music for about thirty years. Thanks to Hugues Panassié, Montauban becomes one of the capitals of jazz, where we play, sing and think about the jazz of tomorrow.
For four days, jazz will resonate in the streets through strolls and concerts. With this third edition, the Fabrique du jazz confirms its anchoring in the cultural landscape of Montauban.
