(AFP) – The master of comic cinema Mel Brooks, 95 years, participates in the writing of a second part of the “Mad story of the world”, a series in eight episodes ordered by the Hulu platform, she announced, 26 years after this slapstick comedy came out in theaters.

According to Hulu, Mel Brooks will be supported for production and writing by Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen and Kevin Salter. Writing for the series is due to begin “this month” and filming in the spring 2022, said the platform, whose majority shareholder is Disney.

World success after its release in 1981, the “Mad History of the World” is a slapstick comedy that parodies History since the Age of stone to the French Revolution.
