Lot. The Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc toy library inaugurates its new premises

Since its creation five years ago, then the hiring a year later of its director Myriam Lapèze, the Jeux et compagnie toy library has come a long way and shines on everything the white Quercy. It represents another link in the attractive and comprehensive educational offer offered to newcomers to this sector of the Lot and contributes to the dynamism of the territory.

Saturday 16 September took place the inauguration of its new premises in Montcuq, ideally located between the kindergarten and the Lou Pichou crèche. Left vacant by the Restos du cœur, this apartment was perfect for the game library which had been looking for a suitable place for a long time.

C ‘ At the start of the school year, the structure moved to this new space, after spending the summer refreshing the premises with volunteers. A large room serves as a play area, with an early childhood corner equipped with rugs and early learning games. One room is reserved for the administration, another for the storage of some 300 games which constitute the fund of the game library. A kitchen area and a reception area have also been fitted out.

The mayor of Montcuq Alain Lalabarde attended this inauguration. Rémi Dupont, deputy mayor of Castelnau Montratier-Sainte Alauzie, represented the community of municipalities, Gisèle Lavayssière the Family allowance fund (CAF). CAF financially supports the toy library, as does the Quercy Blanc intermunicipal association, the Fund for the development of community life, the department and municipalities of Quercy Blanc.

An antenna and a planned ludobus

“CAF is committed to your side,” declared Gisèle Lavayssière to the president of the Joan Escobar game library. This long-term partnership is part of the Global Territorial Agreement (CTG). The game library works locally to develop social ties and intergenerational solidarity by targeting all ages. It is a service rendered to families in the broad sense of the term. »

A Games and Company branch is being studied in Castelnau-Montratier, as well as a ludobus that would go from village to village. Here again, CAF has promised its help.

Opening hours of the premises: Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. 30 at 12 h, Wednesday and Thursday from 14 a.m. to 18 h, Saturday from 10 h to 12 h. At the Castelnau-Montratier media library, the game library is available every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10 and on Friday from 16 h 24 at 18 h. Next game night Friday 20 September, at 20 h, at the Montcuq media library.
