This is the biggest win ever in Europe: the record sum of 220 millions euros, put into play during the Euromillions draw on Friday evening, was won in France, AFP learned from the Française des Jeux (FDJ).

The lucky man or woman now has sixty days to report to the FDJ and collect their winnings, which is the biggest jackpot in the history of the European lottery since its creation in 2004.

He or she played the winning combination 15 22 26 34 31 49, and the star numbers 2 and 5.

The previous super-jackpot had been pocketed in Switzerland. It was a gain of 210 million euros, put into play on 26 February 2021.

In France, the last record dates back to December 2020. A player from the South of France then won the 200 millions of euros involved.
