Afghanistan: at least 50 dead, 140 injured in explosion in Kunduz mosque

At least 50 people were killed and 140 injured in the explosion that struck a Shiite mosque in the city of Kunduz, in northeastern Afghanistan on Friday, hospital sources have learned.

“So far, we have received 18 bodies and more than 50 injured”, a told AFP a doctor at the central hospital in Kunduz who requested anonymity. Previously, a local official from Médecins sans frontières (MSF), who also asked not to be identified, told AFP that “more than 90 injured patients and more of 15 bodies “had been taken to the NGO clinic in Kunduz.
